Submit a Project for FIGMENT NYC 2022

FIGMENT is a free participatory arts event that celebrates creativity by challenging artists and participants to find new ways to create, share, and dream. The event will be held at Snug Harbor on June 4th and 5th. FIGMENT is looking for submissions from artists & makers (traditional and non-traditional) of all ages and experience levels.

Before you submit:

  • Please read the new Artist’s Guide to Leave No Trace for more information on what LNT means for artists.
  • Please read the Artists Tips & Tricks Guide which provides guidelines on how to create a successful FIGMENT project. The guide contains practical installation and de-installation tips, rules of engagement and construction limitations at Snug Harbor, a list of things you should bring to the island and a partial list of things you cannot bring to the island.

SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT:

New for 2022! In order to better support artists of all kinds, FIGMENT's submission process is a little different this year. We want to make this process less stressful so check out our new format of 2 smaller and easier steps to successful participation:

Step 1 - Fill out this short form if you're interested in contributing a project to FIGMENT NYC 2022. This quick and easy step acts as your intent to participate and will take no longer than 5 minutes to fill out!  The deadline for this form is Monday, April 18.

We are looking for a brief description of your proposed project. Our goal is to better understand the scope of interest so we can help you gather the necessary resources for greater success.

Step 2 - After your fill out the form, you will be assigned a FIGMENT curator who will help you to complete your FIGMENT project proposal. Your curator will act as your FIGMENT contact person and assist you through the submission process. Once your project is accepted, your curator will provide ongoing support navigating logistics throughout the event itself to ensure your FIGMENT experience goes as smoothly as possible.
