Submit a Project for FIGMENT NYC 2022

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting project submissions for the FIGMENT NYC 2022 weekend!

FIGMENT NYC 2022 is a two-day participatory arts event that will be held at Snug Harbor on June 4 & 5, showcasing art that encourages participants to play, dance, sing, create, engage, experiment, and explore. The event accepts submissions from artists & makers (traditional and non-traditional) of all ages and experience levels.

How to Submit Your Project

Before you submit:

  • Please read the new Artist’s Guide to Leave No Trace for more information on what LNT means for artists
  • Please read the Artists Tips & Tricks Guide which provides guidelines on how to make your project as FIGMENT-worthy as possible! The guide contains practical installation and de-installation tips, rules of engagement and construction limitations at Snug Harbor, a list of things you should bring to the island and a partial list of things you cannot bring to the island.
  • Please read The What's New for 2022 Guide

To submit your project:

New for 2022! In order to better support artists of all kinds FIGMENT's submission process is a little different this year. We want to make this process less stressful so check out our new format of 2 smaller and easier steps to successful participation.

Step 1 - Intent to Participate!  This quick and easy step is now open! - Please take no more than 5 minutes to fill out this form:  CALL FOR ART

Deadline Monday, Feb. 14 (because we love you.)

We are looking for a brief description of your proposed project.  Our goal is to better understand the scope of interest as early as possible (especially as we face new challenges) so we can help you gather the necessary resources for greater success.

Step 2 - Complete your FIGMENT project proposal after you are assigned an artist-support volunteer. You will work with an artist-support curator who will assist you and will be your official contact through the FIGMENT evaluation and contracting process. Once your project is accepted your curator will provide ongoing support navigating logistics of the organization and the site through the event itself to ensure bringing your project to FIGMENT NYC goes as smoothly as possible.
