TIPS & TRICKS GUIDE: HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT TO FIGMENT NYC WEEKEND
We ask that you go to FIGMENT Artist Submission Portal and create an account to begin your submission process. This is your account to keep, so please document your username and password.
Once you’ve created your account, you’ll log back in and you can choose the city you’d like to create a project for.
You can incrementally save your project. This allows you, the artist, to begin a project proposal, and come back to it another day. Remember though, once you’ve clicked the “submit” button, you’ll no longer be able to make changes to that project.
Additionally, should you choose to take the project on the road to one of our other cities, you may reuse the project and apply it to other cities.
It is our hopes, that this will create an easier more fluid submission process, archives for the artist and FIGMENT, as well as, a way to collect all the wonderful info FIGMENT needs to produce FIGMENT and support our artists.
Submit your art project for FIGMENT Weekend by 11:59pm ET on April 24, 2013, by filling out the entry form. The earlier you submit your project, the more personal attention you will get from our Curatorial Team! So please don’t wait until April 24th to apply!
As soon as we have accepted your project, we will hook you up with one of our FIGMENT Team Curators. He or she will be your contact, guiding light and trouble-shooter in the time leading up to and throughout FIGMENT Weekend.
Entries are encouraged from individuals or teams of any age or experience level, provided they are prepared to carry out the project.
As noted in our DETAILED PROJECT TIMELINE below, we will begin accepting submissions on a rolling basis on March 15. There are many questions that we need to work out with Governors Island and a response is not always immediate. If you need to make travel plans by a certain date in order to get to FIGMENT, please bring this to the attention of your curator so that we can try to accommodate your dates. Additionally, please consider your calendar when applying to FIGMENT. If you are going to be out of town the week before or after FIGMENT, you’ll need to have your own dedicated crew of volunteers to make your project happen in your absence.
