FIGMENT 2010

2010 was the year of growth. FIGMENT NYC brought nearly 25,000 participants to Governors Island to engage with over 400 arts projects. An estimated 250,000 people visited the island throughout the summer season — making for a record breaking number of visitors who putted away on the FIGMENT Minigolf Course or enjoyed the FIGMENT Sculpture Garden, and the Living Pavilion. And 2010 was the birth of FIGMENT Boston — our first venture into another city!

FIGMENT 2009

In 2009, FIGMENT brought a total of 13,331 participants to Governors Island to engage with over 400 arts projects in every conceivable discipline. The FIGMENT Mini-Golf Course grew to 18 holes and the FIGMENT Sculpture Garden featured 16 large-scale interactive sculptures–both of these exhibitions were enjoyed by an estimated 40,000 visitors over the summer.

FIGMENT 2008
Setting record attendance numbers on Governor’s Island, FIGMENT expanded in 2008 to a 3-day event. We also created a number of season-long programs on the island, including the City of Dreams Mini-Golf Course and the Emergence exhibition in Building 14.

FIGMENT 2007
FIGMENT 2007 was our first annual event, held on July 8, 2007. We had hoped for 500 participants, but were thrilled that over 2,800 people came out to Governors Island for FIGMENT. FIGMENT 2007 featured several dozen participatory arts projects, and received great press.
