Yes, submissions for the FIGMENT NYC 2011 weekend are closed. But we would still love to have you and your art project on Governors Island for the event!
Even though submissions are closed, we want to encourage everyone to bring their art with them to FIGMENT — whatever it is, and in whatever media. As long as you can hand-carry your project onto the ferry (and it adheres to the FIGMENT Principles), feel free to bring it to Governors Island and be part of FIGMENT Weekend!
Please realize that our FIGMENT team does not provide anything for projects that have not been submitted: we cannot provide you with vehicle access to the island, you will not be placed officially, you will have no access to power, and your project will not appear on any map or online. We ask that you respect the fact that FIGMENT is a Leave No Trace event: please take your entire project with you when you leave the island. What we can offer you is the opportunity to be part of an amazing weekend filled with creative culture and participatory art!
So if your project, performance, instrument, costume, etc. is small enough to hand-carry onto the ferry, we hope to see you June 10-12!
